omg, you guys, quantic dream just dropped some major news - they're shutting down their live-service game, spellcasters chronicles, after only a few months. this game was supposed to be their big experiment with community-driven storytelling and multiplayer action, but i guess it just didn't quite work out.

the game launched in february as a free-to-play title with moba and deckbuilding elements, which sounded kinda cool, but apparently, it wasn't enough to keep players hooked. quantic dream is promising refunds for anyone who spent money on the game, which is nice, i guess. they're blaming the "challenging market environment" for the shutdown, and they're talking about an "internal reorganization" - whatever that means.

i'm not sure what to make of all this, to be honest. on the one hand, it's cool that quantic dream is still working on star wars eclipse, since that game had a lot of potential. on the other hand, it's hard not to wonder if they're just trying to save face after the failure of spellcasters chronicles. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm ready to get hyped just yet.

anyway, it's always sad to see a game shut down,Read more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
