ok, so you guys have probably heard about this new game called rideshare stimulator, right? it's all about being a driver and picking up passengers, kinda like a more chill version of those old arcade games i love. anyway, there's been some drama surrounding it because the former lead writer, stella sacco, came out saying she was replaced by ai midway through development.
apparently, the game's company, saber interactive, is using ai for some pretty specific things, like voice generation and localization, as well as generating passenger missions that you can actually skip if you only want to play the "human-written" parts of the game. which, i guess is cool? i mean, it's nice that they're being upfront about it now, even if it did take some drama to get them to spill the beans.
so, from what i can tell, the main story and characters are still written by actual humans, which is a relief. and, fun fact, the game will have radio stations with both human-made and ai-generated music - which will be labeled, so you can choose to listen to one or the other. personally, i'm a bit skeptical about ai-generated music, but hey, maybe it'll be a nice surprise?
preorders are available at major retailers, and the game is supposed to come out on pc, playstation 5, and xbox series x|s, although we don't have a release date yet. and, supposedly, it'll be a lower-priced title, which could be a plus for some people. but, from what i've seen, a lot of potential players are actually pretty upset about the whole ai thing, and are expressing their concerns on the game's steam page.
i don't know, maybe i'm just aRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
