hey guys, so you know how there's a bunch of resident evil stuff coming out soon? like, the new movie and requiem game? well, there's also resident evil: veronica to look forward to, which is a remake of code veronica. i'm pretty stoked about it, but i have to say, the original game is kinda... dated. especially when it comes to the villain, alfred ashford.

so, in the original code veronica, ashford is this super creepy guy who has two personalities - his own, and his sister alexia's. and when he's in alexia mode, he dresses up as her, which is just... a lot to take in. the game doesn't really handle it that well, either. like, claire redfield calls him a "crossdressing freak" at one point, which is just... not cool. and there are some other pretty unsavory implications about ashford's relationship with his sister, too.

anyway, the producer of resident evil: veronica, yoshiaki hirabayashi, was asked about all this, and he said that capcom is trying to dig deeper into the characters and respect their differences in the remake. which, i mean, sounds like a good idea to me. the original game was all about exploring the darker side of humanity, and it sounds like the remake is going to keep that tone. i'm a little curious to see how they're going to handle ashford's character, though - it's a pretty sensitive topic, and i hope they do it justice.

so, some other details about the game: it's a third-person game from start to finish, which is cool. and it's launching in 2027 for pc,Read more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
