so i just saw the trailer for the new resident evil movie and it's pretty cool, but what's even more interesting is the comments section on the playstation youtube page where it's posted. apparently, a lot of people are using the trailer as an opportunity to express their displeasure with sony's decision to stop supporting physical game discs in 2028.

i have to admit, i'm a bit of a fan of physical copies myself - there's just something about holding the game in your hands that makes it feel more real, you know? and it seems like a lot of other people feel the same way, judging by the comments on the trailer. some of them are pretty funny, like people joking about the main character searching for the last physical game copy in existence or saying that the movie looks like it's going to be a physical release (get it?).

anyway, it's clear that sony's decision isn't sitting well with a lot of fans. i've heard that hundreds of thousands of people have signed a petition to try and get sony to change its mind, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. other companies, like rockstar games, are already starting to phase out physical discs - for example, they're not releasing a disc version of gta 6, just a code that you have to redeem within a certain timeframe.
