so, sony just dropped the latest list of games coming to playstation plus extra and premium in july, and i am pretty stoked. as a gamer who loves trying out new titles, this lineup has something for everyone, from souls-like adventures to retro-inspired brawlers.
the first game to catch my eye is rise of the ronin, which is already available for playstation plus extra and premium subscribers. i've been hearing great things about this game, and i'm excited to dive into its open-world adventure and shape the future of japan. it's not as punishing as some of the other souls-like games out there, so it might be a good starting point for new players.
july 21 is when things start to get really interesting, with a bunch of new games hitting the game catalog. avatar: frontiers of pandora is one that i'm particularly excited about - i've seen some stunning screenshots of the game's alien world, and i love the idea of playing as a human-raised na'vi fighting to reclaim the planet. firefighting simulator: ignite is another one that looks like a lot of fun, with its co-op gameplay and impressive graphics thanks to unreal engine 5.
if you're in the mood for something a bit more retro, you might want to check out mighty morphin power rangers: rita's rewind, which is a classic 2d brawler with a fun pixel art style. it's not out until july 28, but it's definitely on my radar. that same day, you can also grab the original dying light game, which is still super spooky and challenging - perfect for fans of survival horror games.
