so i just heard that final fantasy vii ever crisis is shutting down, which is kinda sad because i've been meaning to check it out. it's a free-to-play game that's been out since december 2023, and it's available on mobile and pc, which is pretty cool. i've been seeing a lot of people play it and i was curious about how it would recreate the events of the original final fantasy vii, as well as some of the other spinoffs like crisis core and dirge of cerberus.

i think what's really interesting about ever crisis is that it has an all-new story about a group of soldiers with a young sephiroth, which sounds like it could be really compelling. and with some of the original staff involved, like katsushige nojima and tetsuya nomura, it's definitely not just some generic mobile spinoff. but, unfortunately, it seems like the game just didn't quite work out, and it's going to be shut down on october 6th. that gives us about three months to play it before it's gone for good.

one thing that's kinda annoying is that the game used a gacha system, which means you could spend money to buy in-game crystals and get random gear. but, since the game is shutting down, they've stopped letting people make real money transactions, which is probably for the best. i mean, it wouldn't be fair to keep taking people's money when the game is just going to disappear in a few months. according to the producer's letter, the reason for the shutdown is that they just couldn't balance the production costs with the demand for character weapons and gear, which is a bummer.

i'm a bit disappointed that ever crisisRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
