so, you guys might've heard that nintendo is in a bit of a sticky situation right now. apparently, two of their customers are suing them because they want a refund from all the tariffs that were imposed by the us government. i mean, i get it, tariffs can be super annoying and it's not like we gamers want to pay even more for our consoles and games.
from what i understand, the whole thing started when the us trade court decided that some of the tariffs imposed by donald trump were actually illegal. which, yeah, that's a whole can of worms right there. but anyway, because of this ruling, tons of companies are now eligible for a refund from the government. and some companies, like fedex and ups, are already planning to pass these refunds on to their customers. which is pretty cool, if you ask me.
but nintendo, on the other hand, hasn't said anything about giving refunds to their customers. and that's what's got these two customers, gregory hoffert and prashant sharan, all riled up. they're suing nintendo, claiming that the company could get a pretty sweet "windfall" if they apply for a tariff refund. and, honestly, it does seem kind of unfair if nintendo gets to keep all that money without giving anything back to their customers.
i'm not really sure how this whole thing is gonna play out, but it's definitely interesting to watch. i mean, it's not every day that you see gamers taking on a giant company like nintendo. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if that's really relevant right now. what do you guys think, though? do you think nintendo should be giving refunds to their customers?Read more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
