omg, you guys, have you seen the new trailer for mortal kombat 2? it's literally just dropped and i am so hyped. i know everyone's been talking about the super mario galaxy movie, but let's be real, mortal kombat is where it's at for me. the new trailer is all about johnny cage, played by karl urban, and his mission to save the world from certain doom.

i love how over-the-top the action scenes are - it's totally what i expect from a mortal kombat movie. and can we talk about the special cameo in the trailer? ed boon, the actual creator of the mortal kombat series, makes an appearance as a bartender. it's such a cool nod to the fans and i'm totally here for it. the scene where johnny cage is drowning his sorrows at the bar is pretty funny, and then you see ed boon serving him a drink - it's just the best.

so, mortal kombat 2 is hitting theaters on may 8, which is basically just around the corner. tickets are on sale now, so you can grab yours ASAP. i'm definitely planning on checking it out as soon as it drops - i mean, who wouldn't want to see more of johnny cage's antics on the big screen? preorders are available at major retailers, if you want to get your tickets sorted ahead of time.
