so, today marks a pretty cool milestone - it's been 15 years since portal 2 came out. i'm not even gonna pretend like i was around back then, but i've played the game and i can see why it's still a big deal. valve was totally on a roll during the playstation 3 and xbox 360 days, putting out some amazing games and basically setting the bar for everyone else.

one thing that really stands out about portal 2 is its co-op mode. like, this was 2011, and cooperative gameplay wasn't exactly the norm back then. but valve didn't just phone it in - they created a full-fledged co-op campaign that's just as good as the single-player one. it's pretty crazy to think about how ahead of its time portal 2 was, and how it might've influenced all the co-op games we love today.

i've had a chance to play through the co-op campaign with friends, and it's seriously so much fun. the game just does a great job of making you feel like you're working together with your partner, even when you're failing miserably (which, let's be real, is most of the time). and the comedy in portal 2 is just amazing - the writing is so clever and witty, it's hard not to laugh out loud at some of the characters' lines.
