so i just found out that the hit detective game la noire could've had a totally different lead actor - jon hamm, who's pretty famous for his role as don draper in mad men. apparently, the same casting director worked on both mad men and la noire, and they considered hamm for the role of cole phelps.
i think it's crazy that they even thought of him for the part, because in the end, aaron staton did an amazing job as cole phelps. according to one of the writers, daniel mcmahon, staton was way better at showing cole's vulnerable side, which is a huge part of the game. plus, hamm would've been way more expensive, and who knows, maybe not as good of a fit for the character.
for those who don't know, la noire is this awesome game set in 1947 los angeles, where you play as detective cole phelps, solving crimes and exploring the city. it was originally released back in 2011 for ps3, xbox 360, and pc, and later came to switch, ps4, and xbox one in 2017. there's even a vr edition called the case files that came out in 2019. i've played it on my ps4, and it's such a unique and immersive experience.
it's also pretty interesting that there's been talk of a possible sequel to la noire, especially since the game sold millions of copies. however, the original developer, team bondi, shut down due to some pretty serious controversy, including accusations of hostile working conditions. so if a sequel does happen, it'll be made by a different team. i'd personally love to see a sequel, but we'll just have to waitRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
