omg, you guys, the latest news about helldivers 2 is literally making my day - they're teaming up with warhammer 40k for their next legendary warbond, and i am so here for it. as a huge fan of both the game and the warhammer universe, i think this is a match made in heaven (or hell, depending on how you look at it).

so, basically, the announcement was made during the warhammer skulls presentation, where they showed off some upcoming warhammer games and stuff. the director of helldivers 2, mikael eriksson, came on and confirmed the collaboration, saying that the two worlds fit together perfectly (i mean, who wouldn't want to see helldivers taking on warhammer 40k aliens?). he also mentioned that they're super excited about it, and who can blame them - this is going to be epic.

apparently, this warbond is going to drop later this year, and it'll be the third ip crossover in helldivers 2 (following killzone and halo: odst). now, before you get too excited, it's probably not going to feature space marines (i know, i'm a bit sad about that too). but, from what i've gathered, it's likely going to involve the astra militarum faction instead, which actually makes a lot of sense. i mean, think about it - both helldivers and astra militarum soldiers are basically grunts who are sent off to die in huge numbers, so they've got that in common.
