okay, so you guys have probably heard about christopher nolan's new movie, the odyssey, which is literally hitting theaters right now. but what's even more exciting is that there's a new tv show in the works, called odysseus, and it's got some serious talent behind it. the director of some halo tv show episodes is on board, along with a showrunner from stranger things - karl gajdusek is his name, and i'm low-key obsessed with his work.

i'm really intrigued by the description of odysseus - it's supposed to be super dark and gritty, with a lot of action and drama. apparently, it's based on homer's epic poem, but with a focus on real history and the events that led up to the bronze age collapse. i don't know about you guys, but i love when fantasy and history collide, and this sounds like it could be an amazing take on the classic story. plus, the pilot was written by a team of four writers, including sean finegan and scott windhauser, so i'm hoping it'll be a really collaborative and well-thought-out project.

so, filming is supposed to start in early 2027 in greece and armenia, which is pretty cool. i love when tv shows and movies are filmed on location, it always adds so much to the atmosphere and authenticity of the story. and get this - the creators are hoping to create an "expanded series universe" that could lead to other shows and movies, which sounds like a total dream come true for fans of the genre. i'm already imagining all the possibilities - spin-offs, prequels, the whole works.
