so, you guys know how hyped i am for halo: campaign evolved, right? it's like, a total remake of the original halo, and it's coming out on pc, xbox series x|s, and for the first time, on a playstation console - the ps5. i mean, july 28 can't come soon enough. one thing that's been bugging me (and probably a lot of other fans) is how the local split-screen co-op would work on ps5. would we need to shell out for two playstation plus accounts just to play with a friend?
well, luckily, microsoft just clarified all that confusion. turns out, you'll only need a playstation account for each player, but not two separate playstation plus accounts. i was a bit worried that would be the case, especially since the game itself is already $50. i mean, who wants to pay extra just to play co-op with a friend on the same couch? it just didn't seem very fair. but, thankfully, that's not how it's going to work.
so, what do you need to play split-screen co-op on ps5? basically, each player needs a playstation account, and if you want to play online co-op, you'll need playstation plus. but for local co-op, you're good to go without it. and, if you're playing on pc or xbox, you'll just need to create a microsoft account for local co-op. it's all about cross-progression, which is pretty cool, if you ask me. i love that we can play together, no matter what platform we're on.
