so i just heard the news that gta 6 is going to be a digital-only game, and i have to say, i'm a bit surprised. i mean, i know some people who are super into collecting physical copies of games, and this is definitely going to be a bummer for them. apparently, rockstar has no plans to release the game on disc, not even months after it comes out.

i guess some people were holding out hope that there would be a disc version, especially since a rockstar support agent seemed to suggest that there would be physical copies available at some point. but it turns out that was just a misunderstanding - the "physical copy" they were talking about is actually just a box with a code in it, not a disc. it's kind of weird, but i guess it makes sense. the code won't even unlock until the game's release date, november 19, so it's not like you can play it early or anything.

so why is rockstar doing this? from what i've heard, it's mostly about the money. by not releasing the game on disc, they can avoid the possibility of it leaking early, and they can also make more money from digital sales. it's not like it's going to hurt the game's sales or anything - lots of people are still going to buy it, even if it's not on disc. but at the same time, it's a bit of a shame for people who love collecting physical games. gta 6 is going to have two editions, by the way - a standard one for $80, and an ultimate one for $100 that has some extra content.

i'm not really sure how i feel about this, to be honest. on the one hand, i loveRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
