so i just heard that grand theft auto 6 is coming out on november 19, 2026, and it's gonna be $80 - which, honestly, isn't that surprising considering how hyped this game is. what did catch my attention, though, is that there won't be a disc version. like, you can still get a physical copy, but it'll just have a code inside that you can use to download the game.
i was a bit skeptical at first, but apparently this decision makes total sense for rockstar. one of the main reasons is that it blocks the resale market, which is kinda cool if you think about it. i mean, when you buy a game on a disc, you can resell it or rent it out, and the publisher doesn't get any of that money. by going digital, rockstar gets to keep all the profits, which is pretty smart if you ask me.
another reason for no disc version is to prevent spoilers, which is something that rockstar is super careful about. they don't want the game to leak before it's released, and by not having physical copies floating around, they can keep everything under wraps until november 19. it's actually pretty clever - even if someone gets their hands on a physical copy, they won't be able to play it until the release date, so there's no risk of spoilers.
preorders are available at major retailers, and if you do decide to get a physical copy, you can preload the game starting november 12. it's not like you'll be able to play it early or anything, but it's still kinda cool to have it all ready to go on your console. some people might be disappointed that there's no disc version, but i think it's aRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
