so i just heard about this pretty interesting interview with christopher judge, the voice of kratos in the god of war games. he's talking about how he's really frustrated with live-action adaptations of video games, and honestly, i get where he's coming from. it seems like these adaptations just ignore the people who actually created the games, which is kinda weird when you think about it.
i mean, take the last of us for example. the voice actors in that game were amazing, and it's hard to imagine anyone else bringing those characters to life. but instead of using them, the live-action show went with different actors, like pedro pascal as joel. don't get me wrong, he's a great actor and all, but it's just weird that they didn't use the original voice actor, ashley baker. especially since he was so iconic in the role. and it's not like he wasn't involved at all - he did make a cameo in the show, but it's just not the same as him playing the main character.
it's also pretty interesting that christopher judge is calling out the writers of these adaptations for not hiring the original game writers to help with the show. it makes sense, right? these are people who have been working on the game for years, they know the world and the characters inside and out. it's not like they wouldn't be able to translate that to a tv show. and if they're doing shot-for-shot remakes of the game, it's just common sense to have the original writers on board to make sure everything stays true to the source material.
i'm really curious to see how the god of war live-action adaptation turns out, especially since they've already run into some trouble with the original actor playingRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
