omg, you guys, have you heard the latest news about the future of some of our favorite game franchises? it's looking like deus ex and timesplitters might actually have a chance to thrive again, and i am so here for it. apparently, the company behind them, embracer group, is splitting into two separate companies - fellowship entertainment and embracer - and this could mean big things for some of their lesser-loved titles.
so, fellowship entertainment is going to be focusing on the big hitters like lord of the rings and tomb raider, which is cool and all, but what's really got me excited is that they're also open to working with partners to revive some of their other ip, like saints row, legacy of kain, and of course, deus ex and timesplitters. i mean, can you even imagine a new timesplitters game? it's been ages since we've seen anything from that series, and i've been craving some of that old-school action.
it's not all sunshine and rainbows, though - we've seen attempts to revive deus ex before, and they haven't exactly ended well. like, remember that canceled game from 2024? yeah, that was a bummer. and saints row director chris stockman has even gone on record saying that he thinks the franchise is dead, which is pretty sad. but hey, at least embracer is willing to try again, and maybe this time they'll get it right.
