omg, you guys, fields of mistria just left beta and it's like, totally changed the game (no pun intended). basically, this farm life fantasy rpg has been in early access for two years now, and the devs just dropped a huge 1.0 update that adds a ton of new features and fixes. i'm talking about the ability to ride around town on a giant chicken mount - yes, you read that right, a big rideable chicken. how cool is that?

so, what else is new in this update? well, for starters, some previously incomplete quests are now finishable, like the town repair and museum ones. and if you're looking for more to do, there are two brand new quests to tackle: saturday market plaza and repair the bell tower. the devs have also raised the town renown cap to 100 and the npc heart level cap to 10, which is pretty sweet for players who've been grinding for a while now.

one thing that's really interesting about fields of mistria is its focus on romantic relationships. with this new update, there are 10 heart proposal events, wedding events, marriage, and even kids - talk about a serious commitment. and don't worry if you're a veteran player, you'll get steam achievements retroactively, although you can choose to start fresh without them if you want to. i think it's really cool that the devs are giving players that option, you know?
