omg you guys, i just heard about this new game called vampirium 1997 and it sounds so cool. it's from bithell games, the same devs who made thomas was alone and amberspire, and they're known for creating these really cerebral and challenging games that make you think. this one's a non-linear horror game where you play as a vampire assassin working for the king of england - who just happens to be a vampire himself.

so the game's set in an alternate timeline in the late 90s, which i think is a really interesting choice. it's not like your typical vampire story, and the fact that the king of england is a vampire adds this whole layer of intrigue. apparently, you'll be tasked with taking out the king's enemies, and you'll have to use all these different tactics to get the job done. you can try to sneak past people, talk your way out of trouble, or just go for a full-on attack - it's up to you.

i love that the game's all about planning and strategy, because that's what makes these types of games so much fun for me. every action you take has consequences, so you'll have to think really carefully about what you're doing. the environments are all dynamic, so you'll have to adapt and survive in these living, breathing worlds. and, of course, you'll be able to upgrade your vampiric powers as you go along, which sounds amazing.

the devs are calling vampirium 1997 an "immersive sim boiled to its essence", which i think is a really great way to describe it. they've had experience with this type of gameplay before, like with their john wick game, so i'm expecting big thingsRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
