omg, you guys, it's finally happening - destiny 2 is getting its last content update soon. like, i know it's been out for almost nine years, but it still feels kinda surreal that bungie is moving on from it. the update is set to drop on june 9, 2026, and after that, it's time to say goodbye to new content for the game.
i'm a bit torn about this, to be honest. on one hand, i'm excited to see what bungie comes up with next - they're literally one of my favorite game devs, and i love their style. but on the other hand, i'm gonna miss the regular updates and new storylines that destiny 2 has been getting all these years. apparently, the team felt like they'd told all the stories they wanted to with the game, and it's time to move on to something new.
so, what does this mean for destiny 2? well, the good news is that the game isn't just going to disappear - bungie is still going to support it and make sure it stays playable for both new and old players. but, we don't know yet if any of the previously vaulted content is going to make a comeback, which is kinda frustrating. i mean, i know some people are still holding out hope that we'll see some of those old favorites again, but i guess only time will tell.
