so i've been playing crimson desert for a bit now, and i have to say it's been a pretty wild ride. the game has this huge open world that's just begging to be explored, and the freedom to experiment and try new things is really cool. it's like a mix of assassin's creed and breath of the wild, but with a more consistent storyline that keeps me coming back for more.

but despite how much fun i'm having, there's this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that i just can't shake. it's the whole thing with the game's developer, pearl abyss, using ai-generated content without being super upfront about it. like, i get that games are made by teams of people and sometimes that includes using tools to help with certain tasks, but it feels kinda sketchy when it's not clearly disclosed.

i mean, i've been looking into it and apparently the game was released on march 19, which is pretty recent. and from what i've seen, it's had some issues with being a bit unpolished, like a weird storage system and some blurry graphics on the ps5 version. oh, and there's also this whole thing with ai-generated "placeholder" art that was apparently left in the game by mistake. it's all just a bit suspicious, you know?

anyway, preorders are available at major retailers, and i guess the game is out now on various platforms. i'm not sure if i'd fully recommend it, though, just because of all the controversy surrounding it. i mean, it's a pretty solid rpg and all, but the whole ai thing is just a bit of a turnoff for me. has anyone else played it and had any thoughts on the whole situation?
