so, call of duty just dropped some new skins and i'm kinda shook - they're featuring thurgood jenkins from the old movie half baked, played by dave chappelle. now, i used to think chappelle was hilarious back in the day, but lately, he's been pretty problematic, especially when it comes to the lgbtq+ community.

i mean, i remember watching chappelle's show and laughing along with everyone else, but then he started making jokes that were just plain hurtful and unfunny. it's like, i get that comedy is all about pushing boundaries, but there's a fine line between being edgy and being a bigot. and chappelle definitely crossed that line, especially when he started targeting trans people and survivors of sexual assault.

anyway, back to the call of duty skins - they're basically a collaboration with the movie half baked, and they're available as part of a bundle. i guess it's cool if you're a fan of the movie, but it's hard to separate the character from the person who played him. it's like, activision is trying to be all fun and games, but at the same time, they're profiting off of someone who's been really hurtful to a lot of people.

i don't know, maybe i'm just being too sensitive, but it feels like activision is sending some pretty mixed messages. on the one hand, they're all about inclusivity and supporting the lgbtq+ community, but on the other hand, they're collaborating with someone who's been openly transphobic. it's like, what's the real priority here? are they just trying to make a quick buck, or do they actually care about being inclusive?
