so, call of duty fans are in for a treat - the modern warfare 4 beta is just around the corner, and it's going to be way more than just your average multiplayer test run. for the first time ever, the beta will include a campaign mission, called entrenched, as well as a sneak peek at the upcoming warzone mode, resurgence zodiac. i'm low-key hyped to try out the campaign, since that's usually my favorite part of any cod game.

the beta is set to kick off on august 21, but only for people who have preordered the game - they'll get a fancy early access period that lasts until august 25. after that, the beta will be open to everyone from august 28 to september 1. one thing to note, though, is that switch 2 players won't be able to join in on the early access fun, since preorders for that version don't start until august 28. still, it's cool to see call of duty making its way back to a nintendo platform after all these years.

i've been looking at the list of maps, modes, and content that will be included in the beta, and it's looking pretty sweet. i won't go into all the details, but let's just say that there's a lot to look forward to. and, of course, the full game is set to release on october 23 for pc, ps5, xbox series x|s, and switch 2. if you preorder, you'll even get to play the campaign a whole week before launch, which is a nice little bonus.
