omg, you guys, i just heard the craziest thing about call of duty - apparently, the whole series might not have existed if it wasn't for james bond. like, what even is that? i'm still trying to wrap my head around it, but basically, there's this new documentary about call of duty, and one of the devs, michael condrey, shared this wild story.

so, back in the early 2000s, condrey was working at ea on some james bond games, including 007: nightfire. they were looking for a team to handle the pc version, and one of the teams they met with was 2015, inc. - which, fun fact, was founded by vince zampella and jason west. you might recognize those names, since they're also the ones behind medal of honor: allied assault, and later, of course, call of duty.

i think what's really interesting here is that, if things had gone differently, 2015, inc. might have ended up working on james bond games instead of call of duty. can you even imagine? it's like, this whole alternate universe where call of duty never became a thing, and instead, we got a bunch of james bond games from the same devs. it's wild to think about, and it just goes to show how much of a chance thing the gaming industry can be.

preorders are available at major retailers, but to be honest, i'm not even sure what to make of this news - it's just so crazy to think about how different things could have been. i mean, call of duty is one of the biggest franchises out there, and the idea that it might not have existed is just mind-blowing. iRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
