omg, you guys, call of duty is finally coming back to a nintendo platform after like, forever. it's been over a decade since we've seen a call of duty game on a nintendo console, with the last one being call of duty: ghosts on the wii u back in 2013. but now, activision is bringing call of duty: modern warfare 4 to the switch 2 on october 23, which is the same day it launches on ps5, xbox series x|s, and pc.
i have to say, i'm kinda surprised it's taken this long for call of duty to come back to nintendo, especially since microsoft made a big deal about bringing the series to the switch 2 a while back. like, remember when they were in court with the ftc and they promised to bring call of duty to nintendo players? it seemed like a big deal at the time, but then we didn't see any call of duty games on the switch 2 for a while, and i was starting to think it was just an empty promise.
but anyway, call of duty: modern warfare 4 is definitely coming to the switch 2 now, and it's being developed by infinity ward in partnership with digital legends. apparently it's a native version, which is cool, but we'll have to wait and see if it's any different from the other versions of the game. one thing that's still up in the air is whether call of duty: warzone will come to the switch 2, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
