omg, you guys, the wait is almost over - a brand new backyard baseball game is coming out this summer. i'm beyond stoked, and the best part is we don't even have to wait that long to get a taste of it. the developers just dropped a free demo, and of course, it's got the legendary pablo sanchez. i mean, what's backyard baseball without him, right?
so, the demo is only available on pc and mac for now, which is a bit of a bummer for console gamers, but i'm sure it'll be worth the wait. the demo lets you play this new mode called backyard derby, where you've got to hit as many home runs as possible in a limited time. it's pretty addictive, and i've already spent way too much time trying to beat my high score. you can choose from a few classic characters, including kiesha phillips and kenny kawaguchi, but let's be real, pablo sanchez is the only way to go.
one of the coolest things about the demo is the leaderboard - you can see how you stack up against other players online, which is a great way to get a sense of the competition before the full game comes out. and, from what i've seen so far, the game looks amazing. they've got this night mode with fireworks, and the field is basically the same as the old games, but with a fancy new makeover. i'm loving the retro vibe with a modern twist.
