so, you guys know how hyped i am for gta 6, right? well, it looks like the devs at rockstar games just got hacked again by some ransomware group called shinyhunters. apparently, they broke into some servers run by a third-party cloud provider called anodot, which is pretty wild.

i'm still trying to wrap my head around this, but from what i understand, shinyhunters is threatening to publish the stolen data online because their demands aren't being met. rockstar, however, seems pretty chill about the whole thing, saying that the breach wasn't that serious and they're not going to pay the ransom. they did confirm that some non-material company info was accessed, but that's about it.

i have to admit, it's a bit concerning that hackers are targeting third-party service providers like anodot. it's not like rockstar was directly hacked or anything, but still, it's not great that shinyhunters was able to get in and steal some data. the worst part is that we don't even know what kind of data they took, which is pretty scary.

apparently, this whole ordeal has already had some impact on the stock market, with take-two interactive (rockstar's parent company) seeing a drop in share price. but, it seems like everything is back to normal now, so that's a relief. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way, if you're as stoked for gta 6 as i am.

anyway, i'm just hoping that this hack doesn't delay the release of gta 6 or anything. i know rockstar is all about quality and taking their time, but i'm seriously itching to get my hands on this game. hasRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
