oh my gosh, you guys - the professor layton series is finally breaking free from its nintendo exclusivity. i mean, don't get me wrong, i love nintendo, but it's about time we saw this amazing puzzle franchise on other platforms, right? the newest game, professor layton and the new world of steam, is coming to pc and ps5, which is huge news for fans who don't own a switch.
i've been waiting for what feels like forever for more information on this game, and now we finally have a release window - 2026, can't wait. the game is also still coming to switch, of course, but the fact that it's going multiplatform is a big deal. i mean, this series has been a nintendo staple since it first came out on the ds back in 2008. it's had a few ios and android ports, but this is the first time we're seeing it on a non-nintendo console and on pc, which is pretty exciting.
the new trailer shows off the game's fresh art style, which is a cool blend of the traditional look we're used to and some new 3d-animated visuals. we also got a closer look at the game's setting, a us town called steam bison that's all about invention and steampunk tech - sounds like my kind of place. and, fun fact, if you're playing on switch, you'll even have mouse support, which is a nice touch. level-5 says we can expect to meet a bunch of colorful characters while we're solving the mystery at the heart of steam bison, which sounds like a blast.
preorders are available at major retailers, so if you're as stoked as i am, youRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
