so i just heard that the final fantasy xiv fan festival is happening in anaheim, california, and there's been some pretty big announcements about the game's future. apparently, the next expansion, evercold, is coming out in january 2027, and it's going to bring two new classes and a bunch of other changes to the table. i'm super stoked about it, but what really caught my attention was what the game director, naoki yoshida, had to say about a potential single-player version of the game.
i mean, can you even imagine a single-player final fantasy xiv? it sounds like a dream come true for some people, and yoshida actually said that he's thought about it before. he thinks that some fans might be put off by the fact that xiv is an online game, and that they might see it as not being a "real" final fantasy. i can kind of understand where they're coming from, but at the same time, i love the online aspect of the game. it's what makes it so unique and fun, you know?
yoshida seems to really care about bringing more people into the world of final fantasy xiv, even if it's just one person at a time. he wants to make sure that everyone feels included, regardless of whether they prefer single-player or multi-player experiences. it's pretty cool to see a game director who's so passionate about their game and their community. and who knows, maybe one day we'll see a single-player version of xiv - but for now, it seems like there are some major hurdles to overcome.
i'm not sure what the future holds for final fantasy xiv, but i'm excited to find out. the evercold expansion is definitelyRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
