omg, you guys, there's a brand new borderlands game out for mobile devices and i am totally stunned. i mean, i love borderlands, who doesn't, right? but this one just dropped out of nowhere with zero warning. it's called borderlands mobile and it's available on ios right now.

so, apparently this game is a free version of the borderlands experience we all know and love, complete with those sick cel-shaded graphics and a ton of crazy weapons to collect. and, of course, claptrap is back with his usual annoying charm. i'm a bit curious to see how the gameplay holds up on mobile, but supposedly it's been optimized for smaller screens and shorter play sessions.

i checked out the game's page and it looks like there are a few different modes to play through, including campaign missions, tower of terror, and circle of slaughter. the devs are even admitting that the missions are designed for people with short attention spans, which is kinda hilarious. i'm guessing this means we can expect some pretty bite-sized gameplay, but hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

preorders aren't really a thing here since the game is already out, but you can grab it from major retailers if you're interested. i'm definitely gonna have to give it a try, even if it's just to see how the borderlands formula translates to mobile. has anyone else had a chance to play it yet? what do you think? is it a worthy addition to the borderlands family or just a weird mobile spinoff?
