omg, you guys, there's a rumor going around that wayforward might be working on a cyberpunk spin-off game, and i am totally here for it. apparently, it's going to be a 2.5d brawler, which is so up my alley - i mean, who doesn't love a good beat-em-up? the project is codenamed gemini, and it's supposedly connected to the netflix series cyberpunk: edgerunners, which i've been meaning to check out.

so, from what i've gathered, this game was in development from 2025 to this year, but its current status is a bit unclear. it's supposed to have some cool features like rollback netcode, which is a must for any online multiplayer game, and a "rollback-safe architecture" - whatever that means, it sounds impressive. i'm also excited to hear that it might have online transport integration, which could mean some sweet co-op action.

wayforward has a history of working with licensed games and brawlers, like river city girls, which is one of my favorite games. they're also known for the shantae series and some other notable titles like contra 4 and advance wars 1+2: re-boot camp. so, if anyone can make a cyberpunk brawler work, it's them. i just hope it turns out to be true, because i need something to hold me over until cyberpunk 2 comes out.

i'm also a bit curious about the fact that wayforward had another unannounced game in the works last year, but it got halted in september 2025. i wonder what that game was, and whether it'll ever see the light of day. anyway, back to the cyberpunk spinRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
