so i just heard about the crazy launch day sales for 007 first light - 1.5 million units sold in the first 24 hours is seriously insane. i mean, we all knew this game was gonna be big, but those numbers are on a whole other level. i'm low-key excited to dive in and see what all the fuss is about, especially since it's been ages since we got a decent james bond game.
i've been reading up on what people are saying about the game, and it sounds like io interactive really knocked it out of the park. apparently, the combat system is super snappy and there's a lot of room for creative stealth and improvisation, which is exactly what you want from a bond game. it's cool that they took inspiration from the hitman series, but also weren't afraid to try new things and make it their own. i love when devs take risks like that and it pays off.
so, for anyone who's been waiting to get their hands on 007 first light, it's available now for ps5, xbox series x|s, and pc. and don't worry if you're a switch fan - a nintendo switch 2 version is coming later, so you won't be left out. preorders are available at major retailers, if you haven't grabbed it yet. oh, and it just got a new patch to fix some pesky crashes, so that's a nice bonus. i'm thinking of picking it up this weekend and seeing what all the hype is about - has anyone else played it yet?
