omg, you guys, i'm so obsessed with the sims 2 right now. i mean, who needs real life when you can control fake people and watch them mess up a grilled cheese sandwich? it's basically the best way to cope with everything that's going on. and the best part is, it's not just the gameplay that's amazing - the soundtrack is literally the best.

i've been listening to the nightlife expansion soundtrack nonstop, and i'm not even kidding when i say it's one of my favorite videogame soundtracks of all time. ea somehow managed to get some of the best djs and electronic artists of the 2000s to remix the game's tracks, and it's just... wow. junkie xl, adam freeland, and lemon jelly are just a few of the artists that contributed to the soundtrack, and it's so cool to hear their unique spins on the original tracks.

the result is this incredible blend of playful and whimsical sounds with heavy bass and synths that just make you want to dance. it's like nothing i've ever heard before, and i'm obsessed. my favorite remix has to be general midi's version of stop and sim - it's just so different from the original track, with these dirty distorted synth sounds that are just perfection. and then there's lemon jelly's version of sim time sim place, which is just... weird in the best way possible. it's like they took the original track and just made it their own, adding in these weird aliens synths and a booming choir that just adds to the overall quirky vibe of the game.
