omg, you guys, have you heard about the blood of the dawnwalker? it's this super cool vampire-themed game coming out in 2026 from a team of devs who used to work on the witcher series. i'm totally stoked to see what they've been cooking up, and apparently it's going to be pretty innovative.
so, the director of the game, konrad tomaszkiewicz, was chatting with someone from ign and he said that he doesn't think he could've made this game at cd projekt red or any other big studio. and that's really interesting to me, because you'd think that a bigger studio would have more resources and freedom to try new things. but apparently, that's not always the case.
according to tomaszkiewicz, when you're working with a big company that already has a bunch of established ip, it's hard to try new things because everyone wants more of the same. it's all about giving the players what they already know and love, rather than taking risks and trying something completely fresh. and i can see why that would be a problem - i mean, who wants to risk alienating their fanbase by trying something totally new?
it sounds like the blood of the dawnwalker is going to be a bit of a game-changer, though. it's got this "narrative sandbox" thing going on, and some time-loop elements that sound really cool. i'm not entirely sure what that means, but it sounds like it's going to be a really unique gaming experience. and the fact that the devs were able to try new things and take risks is really exciting to me.
preorders are available at major retailers, and i'm definitely considering picking it up when it comes out. iRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
