omg, you guys, have you been having trouble playing some of your fave old xbox 360 games on the new series x|s consoles? like, i know i have, and it's been super frustrating. apparently, a bunch of other players have been experiencing the same issue - some backwards compatible games just won't launch properly, and instead, you get this annoying "can't connect to xbox live" error message.
so, basically, microsoft has finally spoken up about the issue, which is kinda a relief. one of their execs, jason ronald, said that they're looking into it, but they're calling it a "rare issue" that only affects a small number of players. i'm not sure if that's totally true, but i guess it's good that they're acknowledging the problem and trying to do something about it.
from what i've gathered, if you're one of the unlucky ones who's been getting that error message, you can actually reach out to jason ronald directly to help get the issue sorted out. which, i mean, is pretty cool, i guess - it's not every day that you can just dm an xbox exec for help with your gaming problems. i'm curious to see how this all plays out, and whether they'll be able to fix the issue for everyone who's been affected.
anyway, i thought this was worth sharing, since i know a lot of us are pretty passionate about playing old games on our new consoles. preorders are available at major retailers, if you're still looking to get your hands on one of the series x|s consoles. but, for now, i guess we'll just have to wait and see what microsoft does to address this backwards compatibility issue. fingers crossed theyRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
