omg, you guys, i just heard the craziest story about the president of take-two, strauss zelnick. apparently, he was in a meeting where they were discussing making a sequel to one of their classic franchises, but he ended up shutting it down because the developer just wasn't that into it. can you believe it? i mean, i've played some lackluster sequels in my time, and it's always frustrating when you can tell the devs' hearts weren't in it.

so, supposedly, zelnick was in this meeting and just got a weird vibe from the room. he asked the producer how excited they were about working on the game, and the producer was all meh about it. zelnick was like, "no way, we're not making this game if you're not even passionate about it." and that was that - the meeting was over and the game was scrapped. i kind of love that, though - it shows that take-two is really committed to making games that are going to be amazing, not just phoning it in for the sake of a quick buck.

i'm super curious about which franchise they were talking about, though. zelnick didn't spill the beans, unfortunately. he did mention that take-two is looking at making new games in all of their franchises, including l.a. noire, which i would be totally down for. i loved the first l.a. noire game, and i think there's still a lot of potential for that series. but at the same time, i'm glad that take-two is being choosy about which games they make - i'd rather wait a little longer for a game that's really good than have them crank out a bunch of mediocre sequels.Read more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
