so i just heard about this crazy news - the director of the upcoming call of duty movie, peter berg, basically trashed video games back in 2013. like, what even is that? he's supposed to be bringing this huge gaming franchise to the big screen, but it turns out he's not exactly a fan of gaming itself.
apparently, berg did an interview with esquire a while back, and he had some pretty harsh words for gamers. he basically said that people who play video games for hours on end are, well, kind of weak. and that they should just go outside and do something more productive instead. wow, okay. i mean, i love going outside and all, but gaming is a huge part of my life, and i don't think it's pathetic at all.
but here's the thing - berg did give a bit of a pass to soldiers who play call of duty while they're deployed. i guess he thinks that's okay because they're, you know, serving their country and all. but for the rest of us, i guess we're just a bunch of weaklings or something. it's pretty weird to me that someone with these opinions is now in charge of making a call of duty movie. i'm not sure what to expect from it, to be honest.
preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm even going to bother with this movie now. i mean, i love call of duty as a game, but if the director doesn't even respect the gaming community, then what's the point? i'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this one, but for now, i'm just feeling a bit skeptical. has anyone else heard about this? what do you guys think - areRead more: Full article on www.gamespot.com
